Eight cool type games for designers

If you're a graphic designer, you may have seen some of these online games with a typographic twist before, but maybe you've missed one or two.

So I thought I'd collect them together in one place.

TypeWar. Beautifully simple, simply beautiful. Do you know your faces? Also available as an iPhone App.

From the rather wonderful I Love Typography site; the rather difficult font game. The name says it all. It's also also available as an iPhone App. (I meant to do that!).

Like cheese? Like fonts? You'll love this little beauty, and although I like to think of myself as a bit of an expert on both, I found it harder than I thought!

The rather kinky, funky and fresh Font Fetish. There's actually four little games here; Font Foreplay, Stereotype Challenge, The Mating Game and Full Frontal.
You may want to turn your sound down a little before you play these!

A couple of rather specialist ones here… can you tell the difference between Arial and Helvetica?
The first is from I Live on Your Visits
Picture_9
The second from Ironic Sans

From the nice people at Veer,  Kern in Space Remember… in Space, no one can hear you kern. Unfortunately I didn't just make that sentence up, but nicked it from their website.

And last, but not least, something a little different. The rather glorious Fontstruct. Not really a game as such – but it's soooo much fun, I think it counts anyway.

So what do you think? What are your favourites? Have I missed any?

Oops, forgot the "What type are you" thingy from Pentagram, where you fint our your true character. Go to www.pentagram.com/what-type-are-you. Enter the password “character.”

Any more?
